Arsenal will make a fresh approach to land goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol in the summer, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The 23-year-old was a top target to replace Aaron Ramsdale last summer, but the Gunners could not finalise a suitable fee with the La Liga side.
Arsenal offered to pay £17m for Garcia after offloading Ramsdale to Southampton, but Espanyol wanted his £25m release clause in full.
It is now reported that the Gunners will return for the highly-rated shot-stopper. They could sign him for a reduced transfer package.
Garcia’s release clause will be just £21m at the start of the summer, but Arsenal are quite optimistic of signing him for a lesser price.
Espanyol sporting director Fran Garagarza recently admited that Garcia can leave for a discount if his transfer is finalised by mid-June.
Arsenal currently have Neto as a back-up goalkeeper to David Raya on loan. The Brazilian is expected to return to Bournemouth.
