Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has heaped praise on captain Bruno Fernandes following the 2-2 Premier League draw against Everton on the road.
The Red Devils had a poor opening half against the Toffees at Goodison Park and they found themselves trailing 2-0 at the interval.
They struggled to impose themselves shortly after the break, but eventually found the net through a sublime Fernandes free-kick.
Speaking after the game, Amorim said that the Portugal international is really important regardless of the position he plays.
He said: “He’s really important, in any position that he plays.
“He is the guy that can, sometimes in the hardest moments, hold the ball and that is really important for the team.
“He is a leader, he scored the first goal and he helped us get a point today.”
United remain 15th in the league table after sharing the spoils, but there were some positives from the performance against the Toffees.
The Red Devils entertain Ipswich Town at Old Trafford in their next game on Wednesday and will be aiming to return to winning ways.
