Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to enter the transfer market for a new central defender following a serious knee injury for Lisandro Martinez.
The club are exploring multiple options but SportBild claim that they have expressed an interest in landing Lukeba from Leipzig this summer.
The 22-year-old was on the radar of Real Madrid at the start of the campaign, but he was reluctant to pursue a bigger challenge for another year.
He ended up penning a new deal with a £75m release clause, but the Frenchman expects to pursue a mega transfer at the end of the season.
Madrid are likely to return for his services, but United are also expected to provide competition following the void left by Martinez’s long-term injury.
United monitored Lukeba during his time at Lyon and they could be willing to pay around £50m to prise him away from the Bundesliga giants.
