Manchester United have no plans of signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the campaign, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils have been misfiring in front of goal this campaign. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have missed clear cut scoring chances.
This has led to speculation that they could purchase Gyokeres, who has already netted 35 goals for the Portuguese giants in the current season.
However, a transfer is unlikely to happen according to The Athletic. The source claim that United are unlikely to invest big on the Swede.
He will be turning 27 soon, and the Red Devils prefer to land a younger striker with potential for a much lesser fee.
Meanwhile, it is mentioned that Gyokeres is also expected to pursue a different club that plays in the Champions League.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea could be among the contenders to land the former Brighton & Hove Albion man this summer.
He could be available for around 63 million pounds.
