Chelsea have an advantage over Manchester United in the race to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap at the end of the season, according to Caught Offside.
The 22-year-old joined the Tractor Boys from Manchester City for £20m last summer and he has played a big role with 10 goals from 24 Premier League games.
His progress has caught the eye of several top-flight clubs and it is claimed that both Chelsea and United are weighing up summer bids for him.
However, the Blues are expected to have an advantage. They are set to guarantee him a starting spot which is unlikely to happen at United with the presence of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
The Blues have had a frustrating time with Nicolas Jackson leading the attack. They are prepared to sanction his sale at the end of the campaign.
City have the option to buy Delap back for around £40m while there is reportedly a sell-on fee in the region of 25-30 percent.
Pep Guardiola‘s side could accept the latter solution. Ipswich could demand a much higher fee (£50m) to sell him elsewhere.
