Arsenal have the opportunity to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia for a discount at the end of the campaign.
The Gunners were keen on landing the Spaniard before the transfer deadline last summer, but they could not afford his services.
The club offered to pay around £17m for the shot-stopper, but Espanyol refused to accept less than his £25m release clause.
Arsenal have now received a boost with Espanyol sporting director Fran Garagarza admitting that Garcia can leave for less.
Garagarza said that the La Liga outfit would be willing to provide a discount if an offer is made earlier in the summer.
The news is a huge boost for the Gunners, considering they are determined to bring him to the Emirates ahead of next season.
Garcia has already agreed personal terms with the London giants and talks have been held with his agents too over a transfer.
A deal could be straightforward. Arsenal could sign him for less than his release clause which will be an initial £21m this summer.
