United plot Delap move

Manchester United could consider an approach for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap if the Tractor Boys are relegated from the Premier League.

The Red Devils are prepared to spend big during the summer transfer window, but it could depend on player sales too.

Hence, they are unlikely to make a huge outlay on a single player and reports claim that Viktor Gyokeres won’t be a target for them.

The Swede will turn 27 in June this year and doesn’t fit into the club’s policy due to the lack of a resale value in future.

The Athletic now claim that United could make an offer for Delap if Ipswich are unable to preserve their top-flight status next season.

The same outlet add that Manchester City have the option to re-sign him for 40 million pounds. United are therefore at a big disadvantage.

Their prospects could depend on City ignoring their graduate which seems unlikely to happen, given the rivalry between the clubs.
