Manchester United could go head-to-head with Manchester City to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton at the end of the season, according to Teamtalk.
The 21-year-old joined the Eagles from Blackburn Rovers in the winter of 2024 and had a good second half to the campaign. He made his England debut prior to Euro 2024.
Wharton has failed to find consistency with his performances this term. He was sidelined for three months after groin surgery and only recently returned against United.
It is now reported that Wharton could attract a bidding war between United and City at the end of the season. Both clubs are prepared to spend big due to his immense potential.
Palace are braced for potential offers and it is claimed that they could hold out for at least £50 million to part ways with their prized asset during this summer’s transfer window.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also admirers of the Rovers graduate. Wharton may want the assurance of regular minutes at his next club.
